AGES 3-4
CUB CAMP
Explore nature with your favorite pre-schooler in this exciting new camp! You and your cub will learn about wildlife through games, hikes, crafts and visits with Maymont’s animals.

SENSES AND DEFENSES
Run, hop and use all your senses to discover the tricks that animals use to survive in the wild. From turtle shells to peacock feathers, the animal world has many great adaptations to explore.

WOW! WONDERS OF WATER
Wow, water is amazing! Dive into this camp filled with fun experiments and activities about the Earth’s greatest resource. Discover the watery world of otters, crabs, fish and other aquatic creatures.

How does a whale migrate thousands of miles or a snake know when it’s time to hibernate? Explore the instincts that allow animals to survive in this wild world, and tune into your own survival skills. Learn about maps, compasses, dangerous plants and animals, and other tricks to be safe outdoors.

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH

ANIMAL KEEPER CAMP
Calling all animal enthusiasts! Discover what it takes to care for the hundreds of animals at Maymont. With the help of our aquarists and animal keepers, we’ll learn and assist with feeding and care, and create enrichment treats and activities for Maymont’s critters!

AGES 15-18
JUNIOR NATURALIST
Junior Naturalists assist in teaching younger campers about our natural environment while gaining great experience in the environmental science field! Earn volunteer hours while working with animals, leading stories and lessons, and preparing crafts, activities and experiments. Must commit to at least three morning camps or two full day camps and attend a training session. To learn more, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 804-358-7166 ext 327.
Cancellations/Refunds
If you need to cancel, contact the Environmental Education department as soon as possible. Your camper can be transferred into a comparable camp at no additional cost if space is available. 50% of the registration fee will be refunded for cancellations made at least three weeks prior to the start of the camp session. No refunds will be available for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to the session. Allow three to four weeks from the time of cancellation for a refund to be issued.
