Dr. Elizabeth O’Leary, project consultant for the new Maymont House Museum belowstairs exhibition, offers an inside look at the challenges and excitement of authentically recreating the interiors of Maymont’s belowstairs area. Furnishings and artifacts chosen to complete the eight new period rooms help tell the story of domestic employees both in service and beyond the workplace. After the lecture, guests are invited to tour the new exhibit with Dr.O’Leary and explore the historic areas that have been restored to their “level best.”
