NEW! GIRL SCOUT JOURNEY WORKSHOPS AT MAYMONT

Join Maymont for two fun-filled adventures designed around Girl Scout leadership journeys. Brownie Girl Scouts will explore the wonders of water through hands-on investigations and experiments during the “Brownie Girl Scout Journey Workshop” on Wednesday, July 6 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Junior Girl Scouts will discover the role energy plays in our lives through interactive activities and experiments during the “Junior Girl Scout Journey Workshop” on Thursday, July 7 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Scouts participating in the “Brownie Girl Scout Journey Workshop” will discover the important role water plays in the environment as well as our everyday lives as they work on activities towards the LOVE: Water leadership award. Scouts attending the “Junior Girl Scout Journey Workshop” will complete activities towards the Energize leadership award. Girls will use the natural surroundings at Maymont to learn conservation strategies that can be applied to everyday life.

The program fee for each workshop is $25. Programs are for active Girl Scouts; one adult must accompany every four scouts. Participants should dress to be outside, bring a bag lunch and either a Wonders of Water or Get Moving Journey book. Workshops will be held at the Maymont Nature Center, located at 2201 Shields Lake Drive; free parking is available. Register online (preferred) for the Brownie Girl Scout Journey Workshop  or the Junior Girl Scout Journey Workshop or call 804-358-7166, ext. 333.
