MAYMONT LOOKING FOR VISITORS’ HEARTWARMING STORIES
What Does Maymont Mean to You?
Was Maymont the site of a romantic courtship with your spouse? Did your child take his first steps at the Children’s Farm? Have you found solace visiting the gardens and grounds during a difficult time? Maymont is looking for stories from its visitors that show how the park has positively affected their lives. From eligible submissions, one or more stories may be selected to share with the audience at Vintage Maymont, the annual fundraising auction at The Jefferson Hotel on Friday, October 23.
Selected authors may be videotaped for the auction segment, or they may tell their anecdotes in person during the event. The format will be determined by mutual agreement between the individual and Maymont Foundation.
Maymont will accept story submissions now through August 31, and finalists for the Vintage Maymont presentation will be determined by September 9. Authors must be at least 18 years of age or include a letter of consent from a parent or guardian. Stories must be at least 350 words and may be sent by email to email@example.com or by mail to 1700 Hampton Street, Richmond, VA 23220.
For more information, contact the Maymont special events department at 804-358-7166, ext. 362.
Vintage Maymont is an exciting evening with a high spirited crowd and extraordinary items up for bid including unique vacation packages, fine wines, beautiful artwork and more. The auction begins with a reception and silent auction followed by a dinner and live auction, all to benefit the Maymont Foundation.
