FUN FOR KIDS - GROWING UP GREEN
The following agriculture classes at Hanover High School in Mechanicsville, Virginia will have their classwork displayed in the 2010 Maymont Flower & Garden Show; Applied Horticulture Science,
Floriculture, Advanced Turfgrass Applications and Mechanical Fundamentals & Technical Systems. Their work will be featured in the "Growing Up Green" Children's Area. Their displays will include student grown houseplants, floral arrangements, wooden planter boxes and concrete stepping stones just to mention a few. The students have been working very hard on their projects to display at the show and will be coming on a field trip to the show on Friday, February 19 to see their display along with the other wonderful plant materials the show has to offer. Oak Knoll Middle School's gardening club will be making a pothos centerpiece with baby pothos in handpainted pots. To keep it green, they are using composted soil they have been generating using lunch scraps throughout the year in our worm away bin.
