Experience the Wonders of the Season

For seven weeks, Maymont is decked out for the holidays! Kids and adults alike will enjoy the beautiful decorations and delightful events that attract visitors from all over the country and the world. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season!
2ND ANNUAL DECK THE HALLS SILENT AUCTION
Thursday, November 19, 10am-12pm, Garden Hall
Get help with your holiday decorations while helping a great cause! Wind your way through a silent auction of beautifully decorated wreaths, tabletop arrangements, and other seasonal items created by local floral designers, garden clubs and Maymont volunteers while enjoying tea and light refreshments. Once bidding is closed, participants will be treated to a design demonstration. All proceeds benefit Maymont. $15 per person/$10 for members. MAYMONT MANSION HOLIDAY TOURS
Tuesdays-Sundays, November 21-January 6

(Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day)
Celebrate a very special Christmas at Maymont Mansion, decorated in authentic Victorian holiday splendor. Lavish tree trimmings, the opulent dining room and other spectacular décor bring the wonders of an upper-class Victorian Christmas to life. Meanwhile, in the basement of the mansion, the kitchen is a hub for holiday dinner preparations. Enjoy a tour with out-of-town guests or make it your own annual tradition. Have you ever strolled through Maymont around the holidays and envied the beautiful greenery decorating the estate? Sign up for one of these popular workshops and learn from the experts how to create the spectacular wreaths used at Maymont. Greens, forms, wire and instruction are supplied; bring your own clippers. AN OLD-FASHIONED CHRISTMAS

St. Nick's Christmas Party at 1pm & 2:30pm
Make this beloved Richmond tradition a part of your Christmas celebration. Victorian ladies and gentlemen welcome you to the Maymont Mansion as you marvel at the grand Christmas tree, the beautifully decorated formal rooms and the traditions enjoyed by the Dooleys and their guests in 1893. Horse-drawn carriage rides and festive music fill everyone with the holiday spirit. Don’t miss St. Nick’s Christmas Party, a fun-filled occasion for the entire family with stories, songs, party favors, games and light refreshments. Mansion tours: $5 per person/$3 members/free for children 12 and under. Carriage rides: $5 per person/$3 children 12 and under. MAYMONT BY MOONLIGHT
Fridays, December 11 & 18, 5:30-9:30pm, Hampton Street Entrance
Enjoy an enchanting holiday evening at Maymont...by moonlight! Horse-drawn carriages adorned with jingling bells carry guests up the luminary-lit lane to Maymont Mansion, where Victorian hosts welcome you to the home of Major and Mrs. James H. Dooley. Witness the excitement of Christmas Eve 1893 as the family, guests and domestic staff prepare the beautifully decorated mansion for a festive celebration. Experience Virginia’s Gilded Age treasure, the elegant showplace of James and Sallie Dooley, in this special after-hours holiday tour. Maymont Mansion is aglow as Victorian ladies and gentlemen share the gracious traditions of Christmas 1893.
